GRPL RESTORE SOAK (Single Soak)
GRPL Gi and Rashguard Reset Soak is designed for when you need an extreme reset from baked in funk.
GRPL Soak pouches are a single use, two-step, deep restoration system designed specifically for combat sports gear. Built for our wonky odors and fabrics (thick gi cotton and high-performance synthetics) that don’t exist in virtually any other sport. It targets the odors and buildup that standard detergents aren’t designed to penetrate.
Step One releases the biofilm and gunk protecting the funk, and lifts embedded odor compounds from deep within the fabric. Step Two finishes the job — breaking down the residues that cause funk to return when you sweat again. GRPL Soak provides an extreme reset that other products don’t offer:
High grade surfactants specifically designed to allow the chemicals to penetrate deep into BJJ/Judo’s unique gear (thick cotton blends and synthetic rashguards — that normal detergents and soaks don’t typically need to deal with)
High oxygen bleach and alkalinity that breaks apart the tough first layer of biofilm and sebum (this is the point most other products stop)
Odor encapsulation ingredient, surrounds the bulk of the odor molecules to remove them from the fabric and down the drain for good.
Follow-up second round of surfactants and enzymes — this is the special sauce, and why it has to be kept separate. Even when encapsulated, competitors that claim enzymatic cleaning, typically have competing chemistry that degrades or lessons the effect of the enzymes from their true potential. The enzymes with the help of the additional surfactants are allowed to root around in the deep set odor.
Finally, a third enzyme (at least with cotton gis) polishes off microscopic frayed edges of the fabric, that limit the ability for the funk to reset for many uses.
This isn’t a daily detergent. It’s a one-time reset for gear that’s been pushed to the edge. Meant to be used only once every few months, when the funk gets trapped through repeated normal wash and dry cycles. An unfortunate reality with our sport and gear.
Use when your gi smells clean after washing… but gets funky again as soon as training starts. (You don’t want to be the stanky training partner!)
Designed for thick gi cotton, rash guards, and fight shorts
One-time deep soak protocol
Eliminates odor deeply seated in the fabric, not just on the surface
Built for athletes who train hard, and don’t want their fight gear to smell like cat piss and sewer juice
Cleaning Process:
Fill basin or tub with your funky gear and 3-5 gallons of hot water (Limit to just enough to cover all fabric - apply weight on top of gear if it floats above surface). Empty powder packet into the soak and agitate to dissolve completely. Allow to soak for 90 minutes. Agitate periodically.
Drain dirty water from basin (leaving residual water in the clothing). Refill with enough hot water to cover the clothing, then empty the enzymes from vial into soak. Leave sit for 90 minutes. Add more hot water, if existing water gets to room temperature.
Position (the fabrics to expose the funk) first. Submission (of the odor causing factors) second.
Restore your gear. Get back on the mats.
